The Washington Wizards beat the Detroit Pistons 129-125 with a balanced scoring attack, featuring 7 players who each scored between 14 and 19 points.  However, the notable performance from this game is that of Cade Cunningham of the Pistons, who led all players in scoring with 38 points (only his shots are featured in blue in the shot chart above).  Does this look like the shot chart of a player who dropped 38?  No.  In fact, he went 0 for 7 from three point range and made only 9 field goals in total, shooting 36%.  Cade’s points came from the free throw line where he made 20 of 21, or 95%.  Just goes to show that if you get to the line and hit your free throws, you can still post a big line even if your shot isn’t falling.
