A Tale of Two 50's

Damn!  The #3 ranked Duke Blue Devils trounced the Illinois Fighting Illini 110 to 67 in this men’s college basketball game.  Duke scored 54 points in the first half and 56 in the 2nd half, to the Illini’s 37 and 30.  This shot chart is beautiful if you’re a Duke fan (for the record I am not, but I do respect the game and can appreciate this one).  This is what it looks like when you make over 55% of your shots, shooting 40 for 72; including 12 of 23 from three point range (52%).  Conversely, Illinois shot only 38% and they went an abysmal 2 for 26 from beyond the arc, or under 8%.  Honestly, this is what I think a Harlem Globetrotters vs. Washington Generals shot chart would look like… have you seen disparity like this recently?
